Growing up, I always wanted to be a midwife – but the career path I took was completely different. While waiting for my nursing placement to start, I joined a payroll department with a company manufacturing chocolate products and never looked back. I have now worked in payroll for over 30 years.

I have 3 sisters one of whom is a twin (not identical)

I enjoy travelling abroad and have been to some fantastic places with my husband and I still like to travel since I’ve lost my husband One place he always wanted to go was a Kenya on Safari, so I did this on our 20^th wedding anniversary.

The other destination I like to go to is Australia, where I get to see my older sister and her husband who moved there in 2002. I have also seen the New Year fireworks in Sydney – amazing! I also like to spend some time in Wales with my Mum in a static caravan.

To keep me company at home I have a budgie who has learnt to talk and he amuses me with some of the things he comes out with.

I enjoy Indian food and enjoy having a few glasses of red wine.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, doing a bit of gardening when the weather is good, and counted cross stitching – which you can see on my photo here.
