Louise Glover

Tax Manager

I feel very fortunate to enjoy the career I’ve built, and even more so to work within a firm that shares my values. After moving around a lot when I was younger, I spent my high school years in Northumberland before moving to Shropshire with my parents after university. It was here that I began my journey into accountancy.

Starting out at another local practice, while working there I completed my AAT, ACCA and CTA qualifications, and with it being a small practice I benefited in experiencing a wide range of accounting areas including bookkeeping, payroll and accounts preparation, before I specialised in tax over the last 4 years, running the tax department for the last few.

Even though I originally studied Sports Science at university, accountancy has always appealed to me because it combines structure with problem-solving, and every client brings a new story and set of circumstances. What I enjoy most is building relationships and being a trusted point of contact, someone clients know they can rely on to simplify the complex and provide clear, practical advice.

Outside of work, I like to keep active. I play hockey regularly for a local team, enjoy keeping fit whether that’s at the gym or walking in the Welsh countryside, and can also be found watching sport when I’m not playing it. I’m also a long-suffering but loyal Newcastle United fan which means I’ve had plenty of practice in patience and optimism over the years!

Family remains central to my life and values. With my own family spread across the country, it’s not always easy to see them very often, but I make the effort to visit them whenever I can, particularly my sister and her family. I’m also fortunate to enjoy the closeness of my husband’s family, who all live locally here in Shropshire.
