A recent survey gave the prospects for the number of company sales a positive view. The Corporate Finance Faculty of the ICAEW, revealed that 39% of respondents thought that a big increase in acquisitions and sales was expected, and a further 51% expecting a small increase.
Against that less than 1% expected a big decrease in deals, and approximately 7% expected the market to be similar to 2020.
Admittedly 2020, has not been a ‘vintage year’, but 90% expecting an improvement is a very positive sign for those business owners considering a sale.
In other recent articles we have spoken about potential changes in tax regimes being a driver behind that, but there is also a huge amount of Private Equity funding looking for a home.
