CBSL Accountants: Manager

Management Accounts, Corporate Finance, Consulting

c£32,000 - £40,000 p.a. plus bonus and flexible working

An exciting new position at CBSL Accountants. The position will have a significant advisory element, and will be at Manager level, reporting directly to the directors. It is extremely rare for such a role to arise in Shropshire, with candidates normally having to travel to Birmingham or Manchester to get similar opportunities.

The role includes: -

Taking primary responsibility for outsourcing and management accounts:

Meeting client to discuss their periodic management accounts. This will include interpreting them, identifying and advising on key performance indicators, and making the accounts more informative so that they add value to clients.

It will require the review all management accounts prepared by the firm and managing a team to ensure that deadlines are met.

Corporate Finance work:

We are currently involved in the sale and acquisition of several businesses. You will be part of the team advising clients on acquisitions and helping business owners prepare and market their business for sale.

Consultancy & profit improvement:

We have ongoing engagements to work actively with clients to improve profitability. There is natural synergy for a manager in charge of the production of management accounts to assist with this work.

We have a diverse client base, including many complex clients and so frequently are instructed on ad hoc projects for clients, such as business planning, due diligence, business valuations and investment appraisals.

The candidate will need to demonstrate commerciality as well as accounting expertise. We would expect either ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with a minimum of 12 months post qualification experience.

Experience of cloud-based accounting software is preferable, and strong Excel skills essential.
