User Focused Online Marketing Strategy
Search Engine Optimisation & Marketing are buzz terms for most website owners and businesses looking to get themselves online. Done correctly it can reap great rewards and drive a lot of traffic to your company website.
Far too often though this traffic is not correctly targeted or focused. This results in poor user experience, higher bounce rates and ultimately no sale or customer contact. How does this happen?
With poor or, as in most cases, no search marketing strategy in place your website could be coming up under irrelevant search terms meaning that web surfers enter your site but then quickly leave it when they realise it is not relevant to their search.
There are 3 major disadvantages to this:
- Poor user experience
- Wasted search marketing effort & opportunity
- With the onset of Google’s options for users to “promote”, “remove” or “comment” on your site you may find your site starts to slip in rankings if users start to remove you from their personal searches or leave bad feedback about your relevance to the search terms entered.
With Google announcing further steps to consumer search experience, on the 12th of May at their annual event Searchology, it is more important than ever for companies to plan their online marketing strategies around the user experience.
